Maggie’s Lanarkshire
Maggie’s Lanarkshire is a place to turn to for help with any of the problems, small or large, associated with cancer. They provide a professional, evidence-based programme of cancer support in a welcoming, homely environment.
Under one roof people affected by cancer can access help with information, psychological support and stress reducing strategies. People are welcome to drop in for a cup of tea and a chat with their Cancer Support Specialists or Clinical Psychologist, to meet other people affected by cancer, or to take part in our courses and groups. The programme includes relaxation sessions, tai chi, nutrition workshops, financial and benefits advice, clinical psychology sessions and cancer support groups. The focus is on helping people develop the tools to help themselves live with, through and beyond cancer.
People don’t have to make an appointment, or be referred and everything they offer is free of charge. They are there for anybody who feels the need for help, which includes those who love and look after someone with cancer, who often feel as frightened and vulnerable as those who actually have the disease.
People are welcome to drop in for a cup of tea and a chat with our Cancer Support Specialists, Benefits Advisor or Clinical Psychologist, to meet other people affected by cancer, or to take part in their courses and groups.
